In her own words…

If you were to ask anyone who knows me well, they'd tell you that I've never been a great follower. I've been a leader and a creative soul since the day I was born. Whether it was my 'eclectic' outfits in school or taking charge of every project, I've always forged my own path, or marched to the beat of my own drum, or however you want to say it.

Being in the spotlight and leading came naturally to me, but there was always a hint of uncertainty when it came to what I wanted to do with my life. I felt like I had a 'random assortment' of talents and interests, but no clear idea of how to bring them all together.

I always considered myself both intensely analytical and creatively inclined. My mind is naturally drawn to solving puzzles and diving deep into data, yet my soul is on a constant quest to bring joy, beauty, and meaning into the world.

Marketing and design became the perfect outlet to blend my (seemingly opposite) talents. I could nerd out, analyzing numbers and trends to build smart strategy, then tap into my creativity to bring brands to life through design. Most importantly, it allowed me to pursue my passion for helping others thrive.

I don’t know if I found marketing, or if marketing found me.

The Journey

I grew up immersed in the world of business. Observing my entrepreneur parents tackle business problems with strategic thinking and human-centered solutions was better than any MBA. My mom started her business the same year I was born, and worked from her home office — so I was literally raised in a startup environment.

My journey into the world of marketing began during my teenage years as a barista in my dad's coffee shop. It was here that I first realized the importance of creating an inviting atmosphere and building connections with customers. When Instagram launched, I saw an opportunity that we couldn’t pass up — and jumped into social media marketing. My passion for it grew quickly, and I soon found myself managing social media accounts for various businesses, from children's boutiques to interior design studios to flower shops. I continued running social media accounts through my college years.

My husband and I met at Baylor — and after becoming a mom, continuing to run social media accounts was the ideal work-from-home solution for me. With my mom having worked from home my entire life, I knew it was possible (mind you, this was all pre-pandemic).

As the years passed, I continued to refine my craft — expanding my skill set to include services like web design and ad management. I had huge dreams and wasn’t afraid of hard work — and I wanted more. I thought I might find it by joining a larger team, so I reached out to a designer friend of mine, which ultimately led to co-owning a branding studio for three whirlwind years. I soaked up knowledge and experiences in that role like a sponge.

Then, when my husband accepted a job in Fort Worth, forcing us to pack up and move, I couldn't shake this persistent, nagging feeling. There was a pit in my stomach and an overwhelming urge telling me that I needed a fresh start. I had accumulated so much wisdom and expertise — but my current position no longer aligned with my desired direction. Seriously, I learned soooo much — but I was miserable and felt like I was compromising who I was and what I wanted out of life.

So, I made a bold move, leaving my agency position behind, and this time, I was all in – betting on myself. That’s how Bye Design was born.

The Name

The name “Bye Design” embodies the deliberate intentionality, strategic thought and personal touch that is woven into everything I create.

At this point, you know that intentionality drives everything I do. So, when it came time to find the perfect name for my business, I wanted something with depth — and to capture that same essence.

Drawing inspiration from the familiar phrase 'It's by design,' I first landed on By E Design — with the 'E' representing yours truly. It was pretty good!  I even made a logo and started rolling with it for a few weeks. The name itself embodied how I work, and who I am, buuuuut I wasn’t totally sold. ‘By E’ didn’t quite roll off the tongue like I wanted it to, so I took it one step further and landed on the name Bye Design.

Now, I’m not going to lie. There was a brief moment where I wondered if naming my studio with a nod to my own name was a little too confident. But, I know and preach the importance of never downplaying your skills or dimming your brilliance for anyone — and I wanted to lean into it.

Through Bye Design, I advocate embracing your talents and speaking your truth - even when the world says to tone it down. My goal is to amplify our individuality, illuminate our inner leader, and help you unapologetically share your gifts with the world, to make it a better place.

Moving Forward

Like every entrepreneur — my path has not been linear.

I’ve experienced twists, turns, triumphs and challenges every step of the way. But those journeys shape who we are and bring clarity to what we really want — and what we don’t want. My own experience is what allows me to deeply understand the reality you face day-to-day.

I’m not here to preach from some ivory tower. I’m right there in the trenches with you. I’ll roll up my sleeves and get to work, not because I think you can’t do it yourself, but because growth happens faster when we share the load. My superpower is empowering you — by giving you the tools and confidence to pursue and attain your goals your way.
